Paddling the Sri Lanna National Park’s pristine lake

2 days / 1 night paddling trip, departing from Chiangmai (ref.CTA501)

Trip overview: Spend two days on a lake amidst Sri Lanna National park, located just one hour’s drive out of Chiang Mai, on the northern road to Chiangdao.
A short local hike in the park and gentle paddling your sit-on-top kayaks, looking for birds along the reservoir shorelines. The overnight on our exotic floating bamboo house is a highlight! The morning wake up on the lake, being in the warm season or in the cold misty winter, is always magical. A true nature experience. For the more adventurous, paddle deeper inside the lake to eventually spot some birds and admire the limestone rock formations.

We can also provide fishing rods, and for the kids some truck inner tubes to chill out in.

Day 1 / Transfer to the lake and paddle

Meeting with our guide at your Chiangmai hotel. Transfer by “songtaew” covered pick up truck to the National Park’s head quarter. We embark then on the kayak for a paddling to the raft houses. It can take approximately one hour. Settle in the house and relax or go for further paddling.
Overnight on the floating raft house, on the lake. Private rooms with toilet.

Day 2 / Paddle and drive back to Chiangmai

After a filing breakfast, fittest participants can paddle deeper into the reservoir as morning mist and local fisherman’s way of life is a must to see. Observe small motorboat with fisherman’s throwing their nets for a catch of the day. Very simple life of this countryside. Others can just relax on the raft-house or swim around. After lunch, we start our paddle back to the shore to meet with our vehicle.
Drive back to Chiang-Mai and drop off at your hotel. (Arrive 5pm approximately).
