Trip Overview
A guided sightseeing day trip to the Golden Triangle and beyond.
Starting from Chiang Rai town, you will make a loop, going North first to the country’s northernmost point, the town of Mae Sai. Visit of the Burma border and the local market. We then head East to the Golden Triangle and Chiang-Saen, the ancient Capital of the Kingdom of Lanna, before returning to Chiangrai on the highway. Tour in a comfortable private car or van with an experienced tour guide.

Outline Itinerary
08.30 Meeting at your Chiangrai hotel with your tour guide.
Drive North on the highway to Mae Sai, the burmese border and Thailand’s northernmost place.
Visit of the border market. (Optional border crossing into Myanmar; border pass fees not included).
Proceed overland to the Golden Triangle. Time to visit and relax.
Take a boat trip on the mighty Mekong river, between the 3 countries’ borders, eventually making a stop on a small Lao Island in the middle of the Mekong, for a glimpse at Lao life style.
Visit the Hall of Opium museum, where you can learn about the history of the Opium Trade.
Depart to Chiang Saen for a visit of the National Museum and some ancient ruins.
Around 17:00 start our road return journey to Chiang Rai.
18:00 Arrive in Chiang Rai and drop off at your town hotel.
