Detailed Itinerary
08:00 Meeting at your Chiang Mai city hotel with your tour guide. We set off on the highway 107 direction North, to reach the Chiangdao valley. The distance is 85 km and transfer time is 1 1/2 hour.
09:45-10:00 Arrive at the Padeng Lodge, our activity base for the day.
We start the day by an elephant’s back ride to reach a Karen hill-tribe village. The ride takes approximately one hour through the surrounding fields and the elephant usually walk in the refreshing small stream. After a visit of the village, you have the choice to walk back to the camp through the countryside, or come back by vehicle.
12:00 Back to the Padeng Lodge for a succulent Thai set lunch.
In the afternoon, we drive by pick-up truck to two different villages, Akha and Palong people. Here, you could enjoy a short one hour hike leading to another village, as an option for participants who like to walk, otherwise, we explore the area by vehicle.
We then drive to the Chiangdao caves, a Buddhist Temple and sanctuary, for exploration and relaxation.
You will have the opportunity to explore the cave, with the first lighten cavern, or for the more adventurous, explore deeper inside other chambers, with a local guide and a special gas lamp.
16:30 Departure by van/car for our return to Chiang Mai. Arrival in the city around 17:30, and drop off at your hotel.
