Full Day Safari in the Mae Taman Valley

Trip Overview
This tour will take you to the Maetaman elephant camp, located 45 minutes drive from Chiangmai city, in a lush green valley. Watch the interesting elephant show where you see the elephant demonstrate their skills, as pulling and hauling logs, as well as a few “circus” show like playing football and blowing in an harmonica. Following the show, you will experience an elephant ride through surrounding jungle and enjoy a peaceful “bamboo rafting” descent down the lower part of the Maetang River. An excellent Thai buffet lunch is included, at the camp.

Itinerary

08h30 Meeting at your hotel with your guide.
Departure by van/car to the Maetaman valley (45 minutes drive).
09h30 Arrive at the Maetaman elephant camp located beside the Mae-Tang river. The camp is professionally run and well maintained. The staff take good care of the 30 elephants inhabiting the camp. The show is interesting, especially for children. Elephant’s back riding in the surrounding valley.
12h00 – 13h00 Buffet lunch at the camp.
13h30 Experience a fun “bamboo rafting” descent, sitting on bamboo rafts which are steered by experienced locals.
15h00 Drive back to Chiangmai, stopping at the “Orchid Farm and nursery” for a visit.
17h00 Arrive and drop you off at your hotel in Chiangmai.
